Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass (140 Kms / 5 - 6 Hours)
After breakfast, we will drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road in the World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh.
On the way to Nubra we will stop at Diskit to visit Diskit Monastery also known as Deskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in Diskit - Diskit - which is the headquarter town of Nubra Valley.
Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or "the valley of flowers", is a high-altitude Himalayan Desert at around 10000 feet above sea level.
Upon arrival in Nubra / Hunder we check in at our Camp for Overnight stay.
If time permits - we drive towards Hunder in the evening where you have an opportunity to ride on a bacterian camel (double humped) amidst the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snowcapped mountains on the horizon.
